Khulna City

Bangladesh has seven divisions. Khulna is the third largest division of Bangladesh. Khulna city is the heart of Khulna division.  It is situated near Bhairab river. Khulna is an industrial town. Khulna is located in south-western Bangladesh. The total area of khulna city is 59.57 square kilometers. It lies South of Jessore and Narail, East of Satkhira, West of Bagerhat and North of the Bay of Bengal. There are many mills and factories in khulna city. A large number of industries were set up in this district during the period of 1950-70. Khulna Hardboard mills, Khulna Power Station, Khulna Shipyard Ltd and many jute mills were established by the bank of Bhairab river.
