Khulna University

Khulna University has earned a lot reputation all over the country for being the only public university campus free from student  politics. It is one of the greatest University in Bangladesh.  Khulna University is situated at Gollamari, Khulna.. The K.U act passed in parliament on July 1990. University started its activity through a formal inauguration of academic activities in 1991 by the then prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The academic programs of Khulna University started on 31 August 1991 with only 80 students in four disciplines. Currently, Khulna university has 18 disciplines under five schools and one institute.

Besides studies lots of cultural program are held in university campus by different cultural organizations run by the students of University through out the year. In spite of these national big days lots of other cultural programs are held in which biggest celebrations are  yearly Rag Day, anniversary celebration of K.U on 25th November, the Pahela Baishake(1st day of Bangla new year) celebration.
There are five Schools in Khulna University:

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET)

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), which opend functioning from September 2003. IT is one of the best five engineering universities of Bangladesh. This university was established as Khulna Engineering College in 1974, the college was later converted to a institution called Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Khulna in July 1986. The Khulna University of Engineering & Technology campus is in Fulbarigate, 16 km north of the Khulna city and by the side of the Khulna-Jessore highway.


About two thousand students are enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and science in this institution. The total number of teachers is over 130. At present there are 132 faculty members, 143 postgraduate students and 1744 under graduate students of which 15 foreign students. KUET offers B. Sc. Engineering degree in undergraduate program as well as M. Sc. Engineering, M.Phil. & Ph.D degree in postgraduate program.

Cox's Bazar Sea Beach

Cox's Bazar is the largest sea beach of the world (approx. 120 km long) . It is located in Bangladesh. Miles of golden sands, towering cliffs, surfing waves, rare conch shells, colorful pagodas, Buddhist temples and tribes, this is Cox's Bazar, the tourist capital of Bangladesh. The sand at Cox's Bazar beach and surrounding areas is rich in heavy-metal mineral content.

Cox's Bazar, it is located along the Bay of Bengal in south Eastern Bangladesh. It is mostly famous for its long natural sandy beach. It is famous for his largest sea beach. The beach is the main attraction of Cox's Bazar. It is the most popular tourist place in Bangladesh. It is visited a large number of turists from America, Britain, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Srilanka, Thailand and many others countries each year. In winter season Cox's Bazar sea beach is crowded almost through out the year.


Cox's Bazar sea beach is mostly for its beautiful sea beach and the sun set. Laboni beach is the main attraction place of Cox's Bazar. It is considered the main beach. Close to the beach, there are hundreds of small shops.Himchari is Located 18 km south of Cox’s Bazar. Along the sea beach, is a nice place for the picnic and film shooting. This picnic spot is famous for its waterfalls.The road to Himchari runs by the open sea on one side and hills on the other which makes the journey to Himchari very attractive.

Kuakata Sea Beach


Kuakata: Kuakata is one of the rarest  places of the world you have seen the full view of rising and setting of crimson sun in the water. It is a beautiful sea beach of Bangladesh.  Kuakata is locally known as Sagar Kannya (Daughter of the sea). It has a great natural beauty. Sandy beach, blue sky, sun setting and rising are more attracted. Every year many people visit Kuakata to spend there leisure time. From Dhaka: From Gabtoli of Saidabad bus stand, you will find Dhaka to Kuakata bus services. Beside that,  BRTC bus service has introduced from Dhaka to Kuakata. Sakura is one direct bus route from Dhaka to Kuakata. It leaves every night at 10:30 from the terminal, called Technical Mor , near Gabtoly.

From Khulna: You have to go to Sonadanga Bus stand then you will find Khulna to Kuakata bus services. From Rupsha, BRTC has introduced Khulna to Kuakata bus services.

The Shat Gambuj Mosque

Shat Gambuj Mosque is a historical place in Bangladesh. It is situated in Bagerhat.  In mid-15th centuary, a Musiim colony was founded in the inhospitatable mangrove forest of the Sundarbans near the seacoast. Saint Ulugh Khan Jahan is the founder of Shat Gambuj Mosque.Then, the name of Bagerhat was "Khalifatabad".Khan Jahan adorned his city with numerous mosque, tanks, roads and public buildings.
 


Shat Gambuj Mosque is a multidomed mosque in Bangladesh. The mosque is roofed over with 77 squat domes, including 7 chauchala or fore-sided domes in the middle row.The mosque was used as a prayer hall and also the court of  Khan Jahan.Now it it is one of the greatest tourist attractions and best architectural beauties of  Bangladesh.


How To Go To Shat Gambuj Mosque

First Way: From Dhaka
At first you have to go Gabtoli Bus stand or Saydabad Bus Stand. Then you have to go to Khulna (Sonadanga Bus Stand) by bus. There are many bus counter:

you can choose one of them. Then you have to go to Bagerhat by bus.From Bagerhat Bus Stand, you have to take a Riksha to go to  The Shat Gambuj Mosque.This Journey will take 7-8 hours.

From Gabtoli Bus stand or Saydabad Bus Stand, you have to go to a bus counter to buy a ticket to Bagerhat.

Sundarbon is the largest mangrove forest in the world. It is located in the southern part of Bangladesh. The Bangla word 'ban' means forest and the word 'Sundor' comes form Sundori-tree. The Sundarbons was declared reserve forest in 1875. The forest lies under three districts, Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira. There are many kinds of trees in this forest like  Sundori (Heritiera fomes), Golpata (Nipa fruticans), gewa (E. agallocha), Goran ( Ceriops decandra), Keora ( Sonneratia), Ora (S. caseolris), Passur (Xylocarpus mekongensis) etc. Sundarbon is the home to many different species of animals like tiger, deer, monkey, crocodiles etc.
